Gray shaker cabinetry, quartz countertops, a dramatic dark island, stone tile backsplash, and a soaring vaulted ceiling came together to create a kitchen that looks like it belongs in a design magazine.

What Was There Before

The kitchen was dated and felt cramped despite the large footprint. The homeowners wanted to take advantage of the roofline and create a space that felt open, airy, and modern without losing warmth. They also needed better storage and a functional island.

What We Did

Our team opened up the ceiling to expose the vaulted roofline and added recessed lighting to make it shine. We installed full-height gray shaker cabinetry on all walls — all the way up to the ceiling for maximum storage. The island was finished in a rich dark tone to create contrast, and the stone tile backsplash adds texture between the upper and lower cabinets. Stainless appliances and matte black hardware complete the contemporary-farmhouse feel.
